I'm currently the dialogue coach on NBC’s Happy’s Place, and let me tell you — this show is exactly as warm, funny, and full of heart as it looks on your screen. Being on set with this cast every week was genuinely one of the highlights of my career.
Created and executive produced by Kevin and Julie Abbott, with an incredible EP team that includes Michael Hanel, Pamela Fryman, and Mindy Schultheis — plus the incomparable Reba McEntire herself as an executive producer — the show operated at a level of professionalism and joy that you just don’t always find on a set. Produced by Universal Television, it had the full weight of a classic multi-cam comedy done right.
And then there’s the cast. Reba McEntire is everything you’d hope her to be — generous, hilarious, present, and magnetic. Melissa Peterman is a comedy force of nature. Rex Linn, Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk rounded out an ensemble that genuinely felt like a family by the end of season one. I can’t say enough about the privilege of being in that room, helping this extraordinary group of performers bring these characters to life. So much love for my Happy’s Place family!
