Con Artists, Chaos, and Absolute Comedy Gold with Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin

Twenty episodes as dialogue coach on No Good Nick — I mean, how lucky am I? This Netflix original was a total blast, and working on a show with this particular cast, day in and day out, was one of the most fun chapters of my career.

Created and executive produced by David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan, this multi-camera comedy brought a genuinely fresh energy to the family sitcom genre. Nick Franzelli — a street-smart 13-year-old con artist infiltrating an unsuspecting family — is such a clever premise, and the writers leaned into every twist and turn with confidence.

Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin as Liz and Ed Thompson were a dream. Watching two powerhouse TV veterans play off each other (and off Siena Agudong’s brilliantly crafted Nick) was endlessly entertaining from the wings. Kalama Epstein and Lauren Lindsey Donzis as the Thompson kids brought their own comedic chops and character depth. All 20 episodes in front of a live studio audience — it doesn’t get more electric than that.
